Meet Millie Golato
Millie is an Australian labradoodle....meaning she is bred down from the lab/poodle mix at least 6 generations.Millie is expected to be about 35 pounds when grown. The funniest coincidence was, when I was at the Breeder to look at her, the breeder said she raises her dogs to be gluten-free......They feel there is no need to put all sorts of gunk in the dog food that is difficult to digest. I had already fallen on love with Millie, but when I learned we were both going to be gluten free I KNEW she was meant to be MINE. Millie is eating a dog kibble called Kanaday.........and its a bit expensive, Like ALL the GF things seem to be!! I think the Aussies know alot about GF!
Hi Guys!
Welcome to my site
I hope that this will become a place to make new friends, share recipes and experiences, and support each other as we figure out this celiac diet!
This website will have all the latest news I learn about Celiac as well as a place to share ideas such as.. what to pack for lunch, what about college, take out food , and lots more! From this whole experience I have figured out that I need to learn how to cook! I started this site as my senior project last year in High School. Talking with others, sharing ideas, and blogging has helped me soo much that I am now getting back to it. I want to reach out to people my age as well. Of course this site is for all ages..however, I rarely find someone my age who has CD so I want this to be a place where we can come and share ideas.
My goal of this site is to spread the word and create a community for everyone out there with this! I have learned that there are tons of good tasing gluten free cakes and cookies out there, but wow are they calorie dense!! I can see why my Nutritionist says its not uncommon for Celiacs to gain up to 30 pounds when they are following the diet. For this reason I also want to find some yummy food choices that won't pack on the pounds!!
I would like to thank Dr. Lisa Braverman, for listening to me,and finally diagnosing me, after being told for more than 2 years I was "looking for attention" with imaginary symptoms from another local Doctor.
I also want to thank Doctor Sestak,(New Albany Medical Associates Urgent Care) and his assistant Sheryl, for always being there for me and listening and caring so much..you guys are the BEST!!!
I am using the color GREEN alot as that is the (Symbol?) for Celiac Disease
Be sure to check out my blogs and comment/email me!
Thank you so much for the kind words and support on my guestbook!!
